Team Victory was founded by Max and Verity Maelstrom when they were twenty eight and twenty seven, respectively. Formerly both on Team Maelstrom, Max and Verity established their own team for the latter half of their athletic careers. Rather than focus on AR water and trap-based play, like Maelstrom, Victory became swiftly reputed for precision tactics, puzzle-solving, and strategy-based play, making them able to compete with larger and more experienced teams. Max and Verity’s ability to recruit top-notch skill has allowed the team to develop into one of the top ranking teams in the association.
Team Victory generally field four players who fit the ‘Team Leader,’ ‘Team Defender,’ ‘Team Foundation,’ and ‘Team Wildcard’ roles. These are descriptive of the players general skillsets as opposed to any kind of official or codified team role. The leader is the primary strategist, the defender prioritizes team welfare, the foundation offers a broad and adaptable skillset, and the wildcard is the necessary boundary-pusher and risk-taker. The wildcard is usually a fan-favorite.
Only established eight years prior, Team Victory is still considered a relatively new team on the LACA roster. Originally consisting of a single quad, two founders and two rookies, the team has since expanded, though it has yet to be able to field a second full quad in the main LA season due to the founders’ preference for recruiting only the exceptional. Their prospective second quad has, however, shown well in special events, despite not having a set four-player roster and is slated to enter the next LA season if a consistent fourth player can be found.

Seasons 1 & 2
Name | Ages | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Max Victory | 28 to 30 | Team Lead |
Verity Victory | 27 to 29 | Defender |
Alex Victory (the Player) | 20 to 22 | Foundation |
Nicholas “Nicky” Victory | 19 to 21 | Wildcard |
> Stellar group, excellent together. First two seasons are massive wins for the quad. The team is small but they are mighty.
> Quad breaks when Nicky and Alex are in a horrible arena-based accident and Alex loses a leg.
Seasons 3 & 4
Name | Ages | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Max Victory | 30 to 32 | Team Lead |
Verity Victory | 29 to 31 | Defender |
Nicholas “Nicky” Victory | 21 to 23 | Wildcard |
Maria Victory | 20 to 22 | Foundation |
> Maria comes in to replace Alex. Maria and Alex bond while he’s in rehabilitation. Nicky and Alex have a falling out, complicating their relationship as teammates and siblings.
> Alex’s rehabilitation takes about 1.5y to get him up to combat level, and 6mo overlap with Max before he’s put back on the team.
> Breaks when Alex returns and Max takes the opportunity to retire. LA is a demanding sport.
Seasons 5
Name | Ages | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Verity Victory | 31 | Team Lead |
Alex Victory (the Player) | 24 | Defender |
Nicholas “Nicky” Victory | 23 | Wildcard |
Maria Victory | 22 | Foundation |
> This is the…most awkward of the quads. They’re missing their mastermind. All of them defer to Verity, but she’s been a part of the winning team of Max&Verity for her entire career and she misses him like a limb (ahem, lol). She can step up, and they have a decent season, but it’s clearly not working. They only manage HALF a year. Yikes. Also, none of them are in their proper roles except for Nicky. O_o
> Breaks when Verity announces her retirement and the acquisition of Riley midway through the season.
Seasons 5.5, 6, 7 & 8
Name | Ages | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Alex Victory (the Player) | 24 to 27 | Foundation |
Nicholas “Nicky” Victory | 23 to 26 | Wildcard |
Maria Victory | 22 to 25 | Defender |
Riley Victory | 18 to 21 | Team Lead |
> These four ring in a ~golden era~ for Team Victory. Riley is a stone-cold natural mastermind, and the other three naturally fit together. Alex and Nicky are a stellar team, for all that they strike sparks from each other with their personalities, and Maria is the bedrock defender as the second. They basically steamroll any and all of the other teams out there.
> Breaks (only temporarily) periodically whenever someone’s out for an injury and then Verity or a guest subs in. Sometimes one of Maria’s old team. Sometimes someone they’re trying to out acquire for the Victories.
> Three full years of golden-age!
(During this time, Kaeo and Kanda are acquired and trained. Dom and Ben are tested out and earmarked and then recruited, then Zed.)
Substitutes
Substitutions: Kaeo and Kanda.
Name | Age | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Kaeo Victory | 20 to 21 | Defender |
Kanda Victory | 20 to 21 | Wildcard |
> Kaeo and Kanda were never meant to be arena-bound and were never tried out before they were recruited to the team. They were actually Max and Verity’s uh…they basically scooped them up out of a shitty situation and then they were part of the Victories and everything that entailed. So. They were trained. But it was definitely more of an immediate emotional adoption on the part of Max and Verity (and…Nicky, who is like ‘MY baby sisters.’ ‘(‘’baby’’ Max found them at 19)). Alex, Maria, and Riley were more skeptical, but equally as protective, tbh. These were the first ‘babies’ on the team after them all being so long established.
> Kaeo is the better at the arena. Kanda is the crowd darling, because she’s the ‘rebel’ and ‘takes after Nicky’ who is the original team’s Bad Boy.
> Kaeo & Kanda: recruited at 19, began to sub in at at 20, currently 21. They’ve only been subs for about a year, but have been with Team Victory for two. Have only played in seasons 7 and 8.
Secondary Team
Name | Age | Role in Arena |
---|---|---|
Dominic “Dom” Victory | 19 | Team Lead |
Ben Victory | 19 | Foundation |
Sam “Z” Victory | 18 | Wildcard |
Unrecruited Fourth Player | -- | Defender |
> Team Victory need to pick up one more ‘junior’ to round out their nextgen team, but they haven’t recruited one yet. When they do, they’ll be between 18-22 (college age). Until then, team two mostly trains with Kaeo and sometimes Kanda. In the current season, the juniors VERY rarely subs into the main team, and only when one of the twins is unavailable for the slot, and usually in their ‘role.’ (Riley <-> Dom, Nicky <-> Zed, and Ben <-> Alex.) Maria is usually replaced by Kaeo. Kanda pinch-hits, as she really spices up the dynamics, especially if Nicky AND Kanda are the team.
> Dom was trained by Team Ferocity since he was 17, but most teams don’t use a puzzle/mastermind type, so Max snapped him up at 18, a bit before Ben.
> Ben was part of open tryouts as an all-rounder and problem-solver who worked well with Dom. He’s a few months younger, but was also acquired at 18.
They’ve both been with team victory for about a year and are currently 19.
> Z, the BABY, picked up at 16, actually, from a shitty home situation, much like Kaeo and Kanda, though this because of trans issues. He’s a *gremlin,* and has been from the beginning. Also not originally going to be going into the LA arena, but there are a LOT of pressures for this as the baby and a legacy and seeing how well that worked out for Kaeo and Kanda (not well). So basically just…thinks that Dom and Ben were recruited to be ‘his’ team and is miserable about it.
Has been with team victory for roughly two years, acquired *after* the twins but before Dom and Ben. Still the baby as much because of gremlin behavior as age. Currently 18.
