Nicky's Self-destruction

“The phase ends with Nicky issuing a final challenge for the top of the leaderboard, dramatically declaring that he’s ready to exact his vengeance for losing to you in the streets of Hivale. His checkpoint fights have, thus far, encouraged you on a meta level to push your progression via mods and wedge skills. Once Nicky approaches after his challenge, however, he looks awful. The fight fails before it begins; Nicky is at the end-stage of soul-body connection failure. His enthusiasm and his tendency to push too far in the service of your rivalry, combined with all of the high-powered skills and mods he’s been using, now has disastrous consequences. Nicky self-destructs into a ghost.”
